HTML5 compliant, mobile responsive theme with a unique blog style home page. You may first notice that the primary navigation menu is converted into a button on all screen sizes, but that’s not the only thing that’s unique about this theme.
The home page can be configured to use a slider of either posts, the theme’s portfolio custom post type, or a standard blog loop. When the slider is selected, it’s possible to automatically return to the top of the page when attempting to scroll past the last post. Using the Backstretch script, Proof displays the posts’s featured image at 30% opacity on the home page and in a stripe above the post at full opacity when viewing a single post. Every post, page, and portfolio custom post features a a color picker that provides access to a virtually infinite selection of colors for easy styling of key elements. Comments can be shown or hidden at the click of a mouse.
Proof also includes a responsive landing page template, support for jQuery retina-ready images, and what is effectively an always-on mobile specific menu. Themedy’s custom shortcodes also work with the theme.
Introduced on 01/17/14, Proof is a 3 column theme with 6 layout options, but some pages, such as the home page, default to a single column layout. Beyond the WordPress standards of custom menus and threaded comments, Proof also supports custom headers, custom backgrounds, and Google web fonts (specifically Open Sans). The selected fonts and weights add about 106 Kb to the page weight of the site, which is a not insignificant addition for typography.
