In December 2018, StudioPress updated the theme to include block editor enhancements.
The home page is divided into 6 widgetized stripes (Front Page 1 – 5 and Footer), plus an additional Hero Section that is managed using the customizer. The widgetized stripes support flexible layout configurations where the layout of the widget area is based on the number of widgets used in that area. For example, a single widget is full width while 4 widgets share the space equally. The screenshots below illustrate how flexible widgets are distributed across different widget areas. Note that every row doesn’t contain the same number of widgets, even though the overall width of each row is the same.

The Hero Section is easily turned on or off with a single checkbox and features 2 stripes. The left side of the top stripe of the Hero Section supports a title and intro paragraph text. The right side supports a portrait image with a recommended size of 800 x 1200 px. The bottom stripe supports a heading plus up to 6 images shown at a maximum size of 200 x 40 px.
Authority Pro also includes an easy-to-use, dismissable top banner managed in the customizer. The banner appears on all site pages until dismissed by clicking a close button. When dismissed, a cookie is created that hides the banner for 7 days.
The theme uses 3 custom image sizes:
- single-featured-image = 1200 x 385 px
- blog-featured-image = 680 x 290 px
- home-featured = 380 x 570 px
Authority Pro also includes code and scripts that change the layout or add features, including:
- reducing the secondary navigation to a single level
- moving the secondary navigation to the footer and renaming it
- creating a 3rd menu named
socialand outputting it before the header - adding a script to match the height of selected entries
- adding a script to calculate a complementary hover tint from the user-chosen color
- moving featured images above the post title
- changing the default “read more” text to “Continue Reading”
- adding support for an “intro” paragraph style
- adding support for dashicons
Introduced on 10/31/17, Authority Pro is a 2 column theme with 3 layout options. Three of the 6 standard Genesis layout options have been removed to simplify content creation. The theme includes 2 page templates: landing and pricing. Beyond the WordPress standards of custom menus and threaded comments, the Authority Pro theme also supports custom headers and a mobile specific menu.
Authority Pro also supports Google web fonts (specifically Source Sans Pro and Libre Baskerville).
