Themedy is e-commerce theme designed for WooCommerce. That means theme support for WooCommerce is built-in without activating any helper plugins.
Patron is HTML5 compliant and features mobile responsive design with a mobile specific menu. There’s an option to keep the theme’s header in a fixed position at the top of the browser and shrink it once a scrolls down the page, as well as an option to include the WooCommerce checkout link in the header.
The theme creates primary and secondary product sidebars for WooCommerce products and displays them on product pages instead of the normal sidebars. That provides more freedom to customize other pages while applying a consistent look to products.
Themedy’s custom shortcodes also work with the theme.
Introduced on 09/03/14, Patron is a 3 column theme with 6 layout options. Beyond the WordPress standards of custom menus and threaded comments, Patron also supports custom headers, custom backgrounds, a landing page template, a slides custom post type, retina-ready images, multiple color styles (summer, midnight, sunrise, autumn, rose garden, greyscale, and black, the default), and Google web fonts (specifically Lato). The theme also loads FontAwesome icon fonts to display its social sharing icons. The selected fonts and weights, including FontAwesome, add about 158 Kb to the page weight of the site, which is a large addition for typography.
Patron features a widgetized home page, but the widgets only reflect part of the customization available. Here are all of the widget areas for the Patron theme:
In addition to those widget areas, Patron includes:
- a home page featured slider which can also display a video
- 2 featured areas with a title, subtitle, link, and background image
- 3 optional front page areas that can display selected WooCommerce products or categories
On our demo, we’re using the slider with the slides custom post type, both of the featured areas, and 2 of the 3 optional front page areas.
We’ve got a live demo of the Patron theme that shows off its basic features.
