original Outreach theme, adding mobile responsive design and a landing page template. Until you put content in at least 1 widget area, the theme displays a blog style home page. Once you start building your site by putting content in widgets, Outreach comes to life with full width horizontal sections that fill out its widgetized home page. The custom styling of the Twitter widget will grab the attention of visitors to your site.
In December 2013, StudioPress introduced Outreach Pro, an HTML5 compliant refresh of this theme. Before activating this theme on a new site or if you’re looking to update an existing site running this theme, be sure to check out Outreach Pro first.
Updated on 9/10/12, Outreach 2 is a 2 column theme with 3 layout options, 4 color styles (blue, green, orange, and red), and a widgetized home page. Beyond the WordPress standards of custom menus and threaded comments, Outreach 2 also supports custom headers, custom backgrounds, and Google web fonts (specifically, Lato). The selected font and weights adds about 100 Kb to the site’s page weight, which is a large addition for typography.
The Outreach 2 theme has a total of 14 widget areas, 4 of which are footer widgets that divide the page into equal parts.
