HTML5-compliant, mobile responsive theme with a widgetized home page largely built from 3 home page widget areas. Two additional widget areas, Before Header and After Footer, are also available.
It’s designed to work with the Easy Recipe plugin, which is an open source plugin available on most of our plans that presents recipes with appropriate microdata markup. Like many themes, the name doesn’t limit how you can use this theme. If you’re not using Daily Dish Pro on a food blogging site, just don’t activate the Easy Recipe plugin and you’re left with a theme offering a clean design with attractive styling for primary navigation sub-menus. Many recently released themes have opted to reduce the primary navigation to 1 level, which doesn’t work well for those needing a few more menu items.
Introduced on 8/12/14, Daily Dish Pro is a 3 column theme with 6 layout options. The theme includes a landing page template. Beyond the WordPress standards of custom menus and threaded comments, the Daily Dish Pro theme also supports custom headers, a custom background, and a mobile specific menu. There’s no Header Right widget area in this theme, which keeps the logo text or image in a prominent position in the center of the page.
Daily Dish Pro also supports Google web fonts (specifically Lato and Playfair). The selected fonts add about 131 Kb to the page weight of the site. Daily Dish Pro loads dashicons which brings the total addition to about 176 Kb on our demo. That’s not an insignificant addition for typography considering that the home page of our demo site is about 944 Kb in total.
