The Ambition theme from Appfinite is an HTML5-compliant, accessibility ready, mobile responsive theme with a widgetized home page.
The home page is divided into 7 widgetized stripes plus a 3-column widgetized footer that appears on every post or page. Two of the 7 stripes are divided into left and right sides on a roughly 30%/70% split. There are 2 hero images for the front page which can be customized via the WordPress theme customizer. You can also specify the colors for links and button backgrounds.
Widgets for all of the front page widget areas are displayed based on the number of widgets used, and all of the front page widgetized stripes have a fadeup effect applied that gradually fades content into view once a portion of the area is shown in your browser.
Ambition also includes code and scripts that change the layout or add features, including:
- displaying the featured image above the post title if you’ve enabled the setting to display of featured images in Genesis->Theme Settings->Content Archives
- moving the secondary navigation to the footer and renaming it
- adding settings for the Portfolio page template to Genesis->Theme Settings
- adding support for the icon fonts FontAwesome and dashicons
Introduced on 3/23/16, Ambition is a 2 column theme with a 3 layout options. Three of the 6 standard Genesis layout options have been removed to simplify content creation. The theme includes landing and portfolio page templates. Beyond the WordPress standards of custom menus and threaded comments, the Ambition theme also supports custom headers and a mobile specific menu.
Ambition also supports Google web fonts (specifically Open Sans).

We’ve got a live demo of the Ambition theme that shows off its basic features. We have made several modifications to the code and CSS for the theme to improve the markup. Under the hood our modified version differs from the download available from the developer, but the overall appearance is virtually identical.
The Ambition theme is available on our plans with premium themes, from PERFORMplus and up.
