Post Formats
Post formats were introduced in WordPress 3.1. They're a way to specify information about a post to customize its presentation. Some common examples include using post formats to present quotes or videos differently from standard posts. To use post formats, you need a theme or plugin that supports them and then does something with that support. When post formats are supported by a theme, you'll see a metabox on the post editor allowing you to select a post format. That selection drives a presentation designed for that format by the theme designer. This archive includes themes with post format support, which might be an easy way to differentiate post content on your site if you regularly use the supported formats.
