There’s an after post widget area plus a relatively unique widget area for the left side of secondary navigation menu. Metro also includes a landing page template and 6 color styles (blue, green, orange, pink, red, and black – the default). In September 2013, StudioPress released Metro Pro, an HTML5-compliant refresh of the Metro theme with nearly identical features. For new sites or updates, we recommend starting with the newer Metro Pro.
Introduced on 1/29/13, Metro is a 3 column theme with 6 layout options. Beyond the WordPress standards of custom menus and threaded comments, Metro also supports custom headers, custom backgrounds with the Backstretch script, and Google web fonts (specifically, Oswald). The selected font adds about 22 Kb to the site’s page weight, which is a modest amount.
