The Digital Pro theme from StudioPress is an HTML5-compliant, accessibility ready, mobile responsive theme with a widgetized home page.
The home page is divided into 3 widgetized stripes followed by a blog-style list of posts which can be disabled. While the number of posts displayed in this blog-style list can be specified on Settings->Reading->Blog pages show at most, it’s not possible to manage which posts are shown in this content area, such as by setting a category filter. The front page image can be customized via the WordPress theme customizer, and the Backstretch script is used to resize it for different screen resolutions. You can also specify the accent color for the background of the left-most footer widget and the hover state of links, menu items, and buttons.
The screenshot below illustrates how home page widget areas are presented based on the number of widgets placed into those widget areas. Note that every row doesn’t contain the same number of widgets, even though the overall width of each row is the same. In the unlikely event you place more than 9 widgets into a single widget area, each will use about 1/3 of the maximum width.
Digital Pro also includes code and scripts that add features, including:
- reducing the secondary navigation to a single level and positioning it in the footer
- reducing the height of the site header as a visitor scrolls down the page
- adding a fade in effect for home page widgets that makes content go from invisible to visible over 1 second by changing its opacity
- adding support for the icon font ionicons
Introduced on 1/27/16, Digital Pro is a 2 column theme with with 3 layout options. Three of the 6 standard Genesis layout options have been removed to simplify content creation. The theme includes a landing page template. Beyond the WordPress standards of custom menus and threaded comments, the Digital Pro theme also supports custom headers and a mobile specific menu.
Digital Pro also supports Google web fonts (specifically Neuton and Poppins), which add about 82 Kb to your site’s page weight.

Hi WP Perform
I’ve just installed Genesis Digital Pro and can see lots of lovely info here for people. I’m asking about the Front Page area where the blog pages or posts sit. I want to install a slider for testimonials. Any thoughts on how I could do that? Please!
Many thanks.
Jane
Jane – Of course we have thoughts on how to do that :) However, we’re a hosting service, and we answer those kinds of questions for sites we host. Want to join that group?
